Yes! The first one is obviously Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Niagara Falls Airport is the city of Buffalo’s second international airport. There are only two airlines that fly domestically and seasonally to Canada.

Buffalo (BUF) Airport is 8.2 miles away and is the closest airport to the city. Niagara Falls (IAG) (15.2 miles), Billy Bishop Toronto City (YTZ) (58.1 miles), Rochester (ROC) (63.9 miles), and Toronto (YYZ) are all nearby airports (66.6 miles)

Passengers should arrive at the airport two hours before to their flight’s planned departure time. The airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please check with your airline to see if the security checkpoint will be open on the day of your flight.

You can either wait for arriving passengers in the Cell Phone Lot or drive to the main terminal’s arrivals level. If you do not want to use the curbside options, you can use the short-term parking garages for pick-ups and drop-offs.

The Cell Phone Lot is a free service that assists with passenger pick-up and drop-off. In the Buffalo Niagara International Airport’s Free Cell Phone Lot, wait for arriving travelers.

There is no need to make a parking reservation to park On-Site. The Preferred Parking Lot charges BUF parking rates of $12 per day, with a weekly maximum of $72. The Long-Term Parking Lot charges a daily fee of $10, with a weekly maximum of $50. The Economy Parking Lot charges $9 per day with a weekly maximum of $45. Aside from on-site parking, there are other options. You can always find the best and most affordable Buffalo Airport off-site parking lots right here. Excellent BUF parking deals, with safe and secure reservations staring from $4.99 Per Day, Please go here more info?

Yes. Every 10-15 minutes, free shuttles will transport you to and from the off-site parking lot to your terminal. These shuttles run around the clock.

Short-term parking is ideal if you are picking up someone or will only be at the airport for a few hours. If you plan to stay at the airport for several days, weeks, or even months, long-term parking is more cost-effective than short-term parking.

For long-term parking, you can use any of the on-site garages or lots. Although off-site airport parking alternatives offer the most affordable rates for long-term parking. Off-Site Airport Parking provides long-term off-site parking at the lowest rate at Buffalo Airport. The areas have been uncovered, and a free shuttle service is available to take you to and from the airport. Please click here to reserve Long-Term Airport Parking.

Yes, you can reserve a Long Term Off-Site Airport parking space ahead of time. You Can Reserve here.

You can either wait for incoming passengers in the Cell Phone Lot or drive to the main terminal’s arrivals level. If you don’t want to use the curbside choices, you can use the short-term parking facilities for pick-ups and drop-offs.

At airports, all passengers are required to wear face masks. Your nose and mouth must be covered by your face mask.

With travel advisories in place, we recommend contacting your air carrier for any restrictions or procedural changes. Check here for detailed information on New York State‘s travel guidelines. Please visit www.tsa.gov/coronavirus for the current federal travel guidelines.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, any restaurant or shop’s hours of operation cannot be guaranteed. The Food Court will be closed for the time being.

Checkpoint for Security:
The Federal Transportation Security Administration runs the security checkpoint at Buffalo Niagara International Airport (TSA). The Buffalo Niagara International Airport collaborates with the TSA to keep security line lengths under 15 minutes; however, to avoid any issues, we recommend arriving 90 minutes to two hours prior to departure, especially during peak travel periods such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, to allow enough time for check-in, security screening, and travel to your gate.

Hoverboards:
Because of concerns about the lithium batteries used in hoverboards (balance boards, gravity boards, self-balancing devices, and so on), airlines will no longer transport hoverboards in checked luggage or as carryon items beginning immediately. Hoverboards (balance boards, gravity boards, self-balancing devices, etc.) are also prohibited from entering the terminal.

Scanners for the body:
At Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the TSA employs Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT). Please visit tsa.gov for further information.

In the United States, airport security has been beefed up. The Transportation Security Administration has information on what passengers are allowed to bring aboard and what they are not allowed to bring aboard (English version pdf)

Here you will find information on topics such as traveling with children, pets, and transferring specific things.

NITTEC Real-Time Border Crossing Information

Please be aware that the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, which governs land and marine travel into the United States, went into force on June 1, 2009.

When entering the United States, passengers from the United States and Canada must provide a passport or other proof proving their identity and citizenship, according to the WHTI. Please visit https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/western-hemisphere-travel-initiative for further information on approved documentation and other resources.

Beginning January 31, 2008, U.S. and Canadian citizens aged 19 and up who enter the United States through land or sea ports of entry from the Western Hemisphere must present government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license, as well as proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate, or a passport. With proof of citizenship, children under the age of 18 will be entitled to enter. For entrance into the United States, verbal claims of citizenship and identification will not be adequate to establish identity and citizenship.

It is strongly advised that all passengers departing the United States double-check their destination country’s specific documentation requirements. This information is available at travel.state.gov, or you can contact the embassy of the nation you’re traveling to find out what documents are required to meet the country’s entrance criteria. A birth certificate, passport, or passport and visa for entry into that nation are examples of these needs.

Visit cbp.gov for the most up-to-date information on travel papers and when new rules will take effect.

Citizens of other countries:

A valid passport is required (and a Visitor’s Visa may be required).
Please consult the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or the United States Department of State for more information on exceptions to the normal requirements.

NEW AIR TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES:
All Canadian and American nationals traveling by plane between Canada and the US must have a valid passport in order to enter the US.

Visit NITTEC for the most up-to-date traffic information, particularly for bridge crossings.

Each photo ID will be inserted by the officer into the CAT unit, where it will be scanned and analyzed. CAT is electronically linked to the Secure Flight database, which confirms travelers’ flight details and ensures they are ticketed for that day’s travel.

Beginning May 3, 2023, all air travelers aged 18 and up will be required to have a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, a state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of identification to fly within the United States.

Both the U.S. passport book and the U.S. passport card are acceptable forms of identification for domestic flights. The passport card cannot be used for international air travel, but it is still a useful piece of identification to keep in your wallet.

United Airlines offers nonstop flights from Buffalo to New York (Star Alliance). Delta is the only airline that offers direct flights to New York City (SkyTeam). Delta (SkyTeam) and JetBlue offer nonstop flights to New York City.

The pet relief areas at Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) are located inside and outside the terminal. Post-security, at Gates 11 and 14, there is a pet relief area. The pre-security pet relief area is on the lower level of the arrivals/baggage claim area. Exit the terminal immediately.

Pre-security smoking is permitted in designated areas on both the Arrivals and Departures levels. There is no smoking after passing through the checkpoint.

The Buffalo Airport has no smoking areas inside. There is no access to smoking areas once you have passed through security. On the ground floor, outside the baggage claim area, and upstairs at the arrivals, there is a smoking area.

Beginning May 3, 2023, all domestic air travelers aged 18 and up will be required to present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, a state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another TSA-acceptable form of identification at airport security checkpoints.
